Katabalu has been a cattery since 1991. Because I have a deep love for cats, I wanted to do something special for the cat world. It took me five years to decide on the right breed. I got started by reading books, magazines, and attending as many cat shows as possible. I have dedicated my life to the Russian Blue and I will continue to enhance and improve the health and beauty of this wonderful cat. I have also had the privilege of working with other catteries across the country to come up with this unique line of Russian Blues.

A Russian Blue is not an ordinary cat, and not every gray cat is a descendent of a Russian Blue. A Russian Blue is the only blue cat with Emerald Green eyes. They are definitely different in body structure, which sets them apart from the British Blue and Chartreux. Because of their sensitive and their home loving personality, the Russian Blue is a hard cat to show. That is why you won’t see many Russian Blues at a local cat show as compared with the other more popular breeds.

This unique and challenging breed tends to have a small number of breeders throughout the United States, which makes a true Russian Blue harder to find. Because of the small numbers of breeders a Russian Blue may take up to six months or longer to attain. But it is well worth the wait. People who have owned a Russian Blue in the past, always have to have a Russian Blue in their home. They are unlike any cat you have known.

Our kittens are allowed to go to their new home at 4 months old. They will be spayed and neutered and have had all their shots by the time you pick them up. They come with a health guarantee and a thirty-day money back guarantee for any reason you are not completely satisfied. We want you to love and cherish your precious family member as much as we do, so we want both the owner and cat to be happy.

Please leave a message on our e-mail if you are serious about purchasing one of our Russian Blues and we will let you know on the availability of our kittens. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a kitten once a litter is born. Remember our motto is "Cats are our kids, and they are treated as such or better!" The Russian Blue Cat has surely captured our hearts!

We also prefer not to ship our precious cargo.

Russians Blues are gentle cats that do not fair well around loud noises or unfamiliar things.
Showing a Russian can be tricky and owning one that enjoys it is uncommon,
Nik Nik loves being shown and is truly a rare treasure.

There is nothing more rewarding than having your cat Grand at a cat show...

and when Nik Nik granded it truly was a "Grand" party!
